The Partnership Platform on Localizing the SDGs, a joint initiative by UN-Habitat and the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security, is designed to enhance the delivery of the 2030 Agenda by bridging national and local efforts through coherent policy frameworks, capacity-building, and high-impact project development. The Platform contributes directly to global efforts such as the Local2030 Coalition and supports strategic initiatives.
Organized within the framework of the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) 2025, this event will convene national and local governments, UN agencies, international organizations, civil society, academia, and private sector actors. The aim is to foster dialogue and share progress on the design and implementation of National SDG Localization Frameworks and accelerate action through effective multilevel governance.
A separate High-Level Event for governments looking to formally join the Partnership Platform will be held on 23 July at the Permanent Mission of Italy to the UN.
